It’s a simple case of supply vs demand.
There is an abundance of content in the world, more than we can all consume.
When supply is in excess, demand falls. People tune out.
We’re reaching an inflection point where there will be clear winners and losers.
The winners will shift. They will focus on quality rather than quantity. They will figure out how to tell new, fresh, different stories.
They will win the eyeballs, the clicks, the engagement and the market share.
The losers will maintain their trajectory. They will churn the same stuff. They will “just get something out.” They will perpetuate the noise rather than rise above it.
We get to choose whether we’ll be one the ones who double down, tell stories worth listening to, and in the end rise above.
